I used to live in central Reading, between the railway station and the Thames (the Caversham side of town). It's 7 minutes walk to the rail station platforms. In the other direction the Thames is at the end of the road, with a nice walking/cycling track.
All four of us moved out to go our separate ways in March 2008. After here, it was on to travel for a while.
The Thames is at the end of the road; and the train station is closer than that skyscraper. Those traffic lights are the junction with the inner ring road.
This isn't the flood plain - this part of the river is between a pair of mechanised weirs controlling the water level. Christchurch Meadow (on the opposite bank) would be under half a metre of water before it reached us; in July 2007 only the edge of the meadow was affected.
The downstairs bedroom is at the front of the house, and is roughly 3.4m x 3.2m, plus the bay window.
The front bedroom is roughly 4m x 3.3m. This one's mine, and is currently a mess. Photos to follow shortly.
The back bedroom is roughly 3.8m x 2.5m.
The middle bedroom is Vincent's. Again, photos to follow shortly.
The back bedroom is roughly 2.7m x 2.5m. There's an extra alcove inside the doorway, so the door swing doesn't intrude in to the main floorspace.
Here's the view from the window in summer:
The Thames is at one end of the road, and has a nice walking/cycling track. Most of these views are 3-10 minutes walk away.
